Took in my Tundra for 100K service. Would highly recommend this shop. Kyle even recommended not to perform some tasks I asked for because they were not necessary! They care about quality, fix it once repairs and repeat customers. Very friendly.
I'm telling the honest truth here. These guys are the real deal. Owner/Mechanic Kyle is knowledgeable, authentic and awesome. Shan in the front office is the best. They fixed our truck last spring after an emergency breakdown. They diligently diagnosed the problem without quickly jumping to expensive solutions. I genuinely like and trust these guys.
I'm from out of town, so I was very nervous to use a mechanic I didn't know and trust. My car was dying every time I put it into drive (ended up being a vacuum leak. I was definitely in a vulnerable situation. I brought it to North Star and they had it running in an hour for me (same day appointment too!). Only $75. Super kind, flexible people. I will be using them for any mechanical needs I have next time I'm in the Methow.
I feel pretty swindled and I have been to a lot of mechanics. Unfortunately, this is one who may have the skills of a mechanic, but somewhat more questionable ethics. If you can, I suggest you go elsewhere.
Today our old truck that they repaired pulled our RV over 3 mountain passes without a hint of a problem.

While hiking in Winthrop we hit a rock and put a hole in our gas tank. Of course we were panicked (being on a 5 week road trip). We called them. They immediately fit us in, plugged it up until we could get to Seattle. Professional, honest, accommodating. I would highly recommend these good Samaritan and professional staff.
Beware! They charge a minimum for 'diagnosis' of $100. You will get a thorough write up of all of the functions of your car. Brakes, battery, oil life, coolant levels, etc. Even if you brought it in for something entirely different. I brought my car in and was quoted one price. I agreed. When I arrive to pay, I was told that price didn't include the diagnostic hour that was spent on my vehicle and the woman proceeded to 'add the two, separate bills together' . Coming out to over $100 more than the quote.
