I had the SOB and a Woodinville Whiskey Co 100% Rye. Please - if you are a consumer of meat and whiskey - do yourself a favor and try that combination. Wonderful meal in addition to delightful service and comfortable ambience. I sincerely couldn't ask for more.
We should have went back to Sun Mountain Lodge, as we did the night before. At Sun Mountain the food is excellent, the view of the valley is to die for and the service is MUCH more pleasant AND they DO NOT run out of menu items one hour into dinner! And Sun Mountain is a kind of hush-hush place, (do not ask locals, they never mention Sun Mountain when asking about best places to eat in the valley), we found by accident while driving 10 miles up into the mountains from Winthrop. So DO NOT listen to the hype - Arrowleaf Bistro is not what it's cracked up to be!
One more thing, I will say it was particularly cold in there. We got outside and felt immediately warmer. Bring a jacket!
Okay. We were here for the 3rd. time in 8 days and the service was really poor this time. The chef did not even allow to substitute a side dish which we did not like too much. How ignorant is this. And drinks were not served as ordered or forgotten. Just not what I expect when my tab is 150 for 2. Not fun. The quality of food was great, but the poor treatment killed the enjoyment...
We had a delicious dinner here while staying in Winthrop. First of all, the service was fantastic. Friendly people with smiles all around who made us feel welcomed and took our needs into consideration. The food was also very good. Highly delicious and the flavor a were wonderful. The portions here are big but they suited a hungry appetite. The fries are highly recommended! The lemonade was also amazing.
Heard all the raves of this Bistro and was extremely disappointed!! The items we desired for our romantic dinner while visiting Winthrop (we live near the Columbia River Gorge in SW Washington) on the weekend of 6/9/17-6/11/17 were, as we were told when we placed our order, "switched out!" Why didn't Arrowleaf post it on the door they were out of food items? So instead of chicken, it became duck breast, which my wife does not eat duck, and for me, it was the braised beef, which they had already ran out of! REALLY-only one hour into the dinner hour?? So my wife chose the pasta with morels, which was mostly pasta and nothing else (and she said was really tasteless for $26!) and I ordered the smoked pork chop, which was just OK for $29. Also, when my wife asked for another salad dressing for her salad, since it had cumin in it, as it's a spice she does not like, the waitress looked like she was shocked that my wife requested a different dressing, which by the way, is very small amount to begin with for the amount of greens they give you. And although the Chef did accommodate, my wife felt as if she was asking for a gold tooth or something! What if a customer is allergic or has a digestive problem with something on the menu? OMGOSH!!
The setting was lovely with candle lit tables and sliding doors as an entryway to another dining room. A modern building with a relaxed feel, this made us feel super homely and comfortable. The local artwork was beautiful to look at as we sat in the dinner table booth.
I love this place. We have been eating here since they first opened. Their new location is really nice and they even have a late night bar menu.
Everything was clean, atmosphere was pleasant, and overall we had a fantastic dinner at Arrowleaf. It is quite pricey but worth it if you want a nice meal.
