Good for kids and adults. Has multiple showers and bathrooms. Has trails and is bike friendly. Pet friendly. Has very good staff to make sure rules and regulations are adhered to. Would give 5 stars if there had been a little more options for swimmers.
However, be prepared for the noise of power boats with huge un-mufflered engines driven by guys with small hands from 9am to 8pm. A few are compelled to turn their stereos to full volume, cause of course they can't hear the music over their $^&*(ing engine. The lake is the size of a Seattle rain puddle so all they do is figure-eights. A few brewskis... WCGW?
I was amazed to see kayaks out there. This is nuts. One dad was accompanying his kids in a power boat with a big orange flag so the guys with small hands could see them and nor run over them. See also: crash on Lake Stevens a few years back.
We left the next morning. If noise is your thing then this place is for you.
Hiked around lake with American volkssport Association walking group as part of a Winthrop walking weekend. Very beautiful and Serene, great trail with ups and downs (about 10km loop)
Nice park but not much to do besides play or fish on the lake. Crazy with yellow jackets.
I have been camping here since I was a kid. Awesome scenery, the lake is beautiful, swimming area for the kids, hiking, plus it's not far from the fun western town of Winthrop. Great place for a getaway!
Nice overall. Well kept. Beautiful. But our site was not as pictured on the state park website. We had to park our camper on the road in a side-out.
